Converting CSV, SEG P1, and Annotation Files to Shapefiles

Individual comma separated value (.csv), seismic SEG P1, and annotation files saved using AccuMap can be converted to shapefile format. Once converted, they can be attached to maps and can also be opened in other applications that accept shapefile format.

Annotations can also be converted to shapefile format by selecting the annotation(s) and clicking Shapefiles () on the Annotation tab. For details, see Related Topics below.

To convert Open Layers, CSV, and SEG P1 files to shapefiles

  1. Using the Ribbon toolbar, with the Data tab displayed, click Import Manager.

The Import Manager Welcome dialog box appears.

  1. Select Shapefiles and then click Next.

The Shapefiles Input File dialog box appears.

  1. Select whether the file to convert to Shapefile format is a CSV, SEG P1, or Annotation file.
  2. Click ... and navigate to the desired file, and then click Next.

The Shapefiles Output File dialog box appears.

  1. Click Next.

The Shapefiles Ready to Import dialog box appears.

  1. Click Next.

The Shapefiles Importing dialog box appears.

  1. Click Next.

The Shapefiles Import Complete dialog box appears.

  1. Click Finish.

The file is automatically saved in the current map directory with .cll, .clx, .shp, .shx, .dbf , .log, and .prj extensions.
