Displaying Production Bubbles

Production Bubbles are symbols that show the relative quantities of oil, gas, and water. Production symbols have a higher drawing priority than DST recovery symbols so where both exist, only the production symbol appears. Display production bubbles for all wells, wells associated with a list, or for wells in a csv file. For csv files, generate the production bubble based on production data in the csv file, which enables you to create a bubble map for data that may not be available in AccuMap.

For details on displaying DST recoveries, see Related Topics below.

Settings for show map layers (display properties, scale cut-offs, etc.) are saved for future AccuMap sessions.

To display production bubbles

  1. Using the Ribbon toolbar, with the Data tab displayed, click Create Show Map Layer ().

The Show Map Settings (General) dialog box appears.

  1. Using the Target pane, specify whether to display production for all wells within the current map extents or based on the wells in either all lists or a specific list that's currently attached to the map. To post custom production data, specify CSV File as the Target and then navigate to the csv file with the data to post by clicking to the right of the File box.
  2. Using the Zone of Interest pane, select whether to display production bubbles for all formations, a single formation, or a range of formations. Where a csv file is selected above, the Zone of Interest pane is disabled.
  1. Click the Production tab.

The Show Map Settings (Production) dialog box appears.

  1. Select whether to plot a single stream or to display a pie chart over the well symbol in order to compare production by fluid. For pie production graphs, the size of the wedge indicates the relative production of each fluid in a given well. For single stream, select a unique shape (triangles, squares, ovals, ellipsoids, etc.) for the specific production mode.

If generating a production bubble using data in a csv file, although all data fields in the csv file are listed in the Single Stream drop-down list, ensure you select a numeric data field; otherwise, production bubbles are not generated.

  1. Type the fluid value cut-offs at which production symbology is displayed on the map. For production bubbles, there can be either 4 fixed bubble sizes for which you specify 4 separate cutoffs (discrete), or a min and max production show size for which you establish two bubble sizes (continuous). For the continuous bubble size specify whether to display production shows that fall outside the min max values specified with either the minimum or maximum values

To automatically populate these fields with actual production data from the underlying wells, click Get Limits below. Type values with which to override the Get Limits values in order to control the weighting given to different levels of production. To view the wells and production in a tabular format, click Prove Limits below. Using the Prove Limits dialog box that appears, the tabular display can be output to Microsoft Excel or the UWIs can be output to a well list.

  1. Click the Postings tab.

The Show Map Settings (Postings) dialog box appears.

  1. Select whether to post values and units as well as other presentation options.
  2. Select the Display check box so that the bubbles appear on the map, and then click OK. Click Apply to see the production bubble settings applied to the map without dismissing the Setup Production Show Map dialog box so that you can make additional changes without relaunching the Setup Production Show Map dialog box.

To quickly display the above dialog box, using the Show Map Settings pane of the Layer Properties pane that is below the Layer Legend, click Settings.

  1. In order to display the production bubbles, ensure the following:
