Importing User Tops

AccuMap enables you to import user tops from either a .csv file or a .txt file into your database of user tops. A .csv file can be imported files using the One Well per line option. Either .csv or .txt files can be imported using the One Top per line option.

To import user tops

  1. Using the Ribbon toolbar, with the Data tab displayed, click Import Manager ().

The Import Manager Welcome dialog box appears.

  1. Click User Tops, and then click Next.

The Input File dialog box appears.

Key requirements are listed in the Expected Format pane.

  1. Select an import format of either One Top or One Well per line.
  2. Click ... to browse to the desired file, and then click Next.

If you selected One Top per line above, the following dialog boxes appear:

Select the line number on which the header and the data start, and then click Next.
The Parse File Option dialog box appears.

Specify the internal file delimiter(s), and then click Next.

  1. Depending on whether you selected One Top or One Well per line above, one of the following dialog boxes appear.

    Either click Auto Match or type or select the names of existing formation attribute headers. Where a desired attribute name does not exist in the recipient user tops database, click ... to display the Select Attribute dialog box where you click Create to define the new attribute name, which can then be selected above.
    If typing the name, you need only type the first few letters of the attribute name and then press tab to auto-populate the field with the matching name.

    It's important to map as many columns as possible because data in unmapped columns in the import file is ignored.
  2. Click Next.

The following Import Options dialog box appears.

  1. Select the Copy/Merge Method noting its impact on your database as portrayed in the Example area of the dialog box, and then click Next.

The Additional Import Options dialog box appears.

  1. Specify the unit system and owner label to apply to imported tops, and then click Next.

If you selected One Top per line above, the following dialog boxes appear:
The Formation Mapping dialog box appears.

Map the formation names to the equivalent formation in your user tops database, and then click Next.

To save your column mappings as a custom template file that AccuMap automatically polls when auto-matching formation names, type the name of the desired template file above, and then click Save.

The Ready to Import dialog box appears.

  1. Click Next.

The User Tops Complete dialog box appears.

  1. Click Next.
  1. Click Finish.
