Important Considerations
|
Workstation |
Enerdeq Desktop users may create very large and complex maps that contain thousands of data points. Workstation resources dictate performance and usability. Three key resources are especially important: Processor, RAM, and Video Card. Upgrading these components will improve performance. |
|
Server |
Enerdeq requires an application server to efficiently run the Microsoft SQL Server database engine. Enerdeq Desktop clients can submit complex SQL queries to the Enerdeq SQL server database, which performance analysis shows to be very CPU intensive. Consider dual Xeon processors. RAID arrays will ensure fast Disk I/O as well as provide HDD redundancy. Ideally, Enerdeq shouldn't be installed on a Domain Controller, Exchange server, or any high-traffic server. |
|
Network |
Network I/O is of paramount importance in any client/server
environment. Servers should use Gigabit Ethernet to the backbone switch
and minimum 100 Mbps Ethernet to desktops.
Use good quality switches, routers, and network cards. Without a healthy
network, Enerdeq performance will suffer regardless of the quality of
your PC or Server hardware. |
