Selecting Data Points on the Plot

There are several tools that you can use to create a new "best fit" using the point-selection method.

To display the point selection toolbar, click the Point Selection icon ().

The Point Selection toolbar opens.

The following point selection tools are available:

Sprayer Tool

Use the Sprayer Tool () to select data points within the sprayer's range.

To select data points, click-and-drag the mouse over the desired data points.

To deselect points, right-click-and-drag over the data points.

Scroll the mouse wheel up or down to increase or decrease the sprayer's range.

To select all of the data points on the plot, click the Select All icon ().

To deselect all of the data points on the plot, click the Deselect All icon ().

To select a group of points within a loop of any size or shape, click the lasso tool ().

To select a group of data points, click-and-drag the mouse to encircle the desired data points.

To deselect a group of data points, right-click-and-drag the mouse to encircle the unwanted data points.
