Updating existing wells
When you import wells, Harmony Enterprise checks for links to existing wells, so you can merge existing data, instead of creating new wells. Linking is done using the well identifiers in the Attributes tab, Entity Header. Merging new data to existing wells is handled by your settings in the Options dialog box, Updating Data node.
Note: | Different import sources prioritize some identifiers over others, depending on the usual content of various file types, and the likelihood of non-unique identifiers. |
The following identifiers are used based on the various import types.
Import type | Order of identifiers for matching |
---|---|
Merak (*.mer and *.axp) |
DLS NTS |
IHDC |
DLS NTS ProdID |
Harmony (*.harmony and *.hldb) |
Internal Key API DLS NTS Name External Key |
DB Connection |
External Key API DLS NTS Name |
Text (*.txt, *.csv, *.xls) |
DLS NTS API Name |
WellTest (*.fkt) | Name |
Lasser (*.prn) | API |
There are some cases where automatic matching does not work, and if there are ambiguities, your input is required. In these cases, the Link Incoming Wells to Existing Wells dialog box opens.
