Log gas rate (log-log)
Return to the data diagnostics flowchart
Does the rate have a sharp decline when plotted on a logarithmic scale?
|
- The log scales tend to accentuate the problem, which may not be evident in Cartesian coordinates. The scale compression of large-time values accompanied by the scale expansion of low rates makes the problem more visible.
-
A sharp decline on a log-log plot indicates a problem.
Reasons for inconsistencies:
- An abnormal decrease in the gas rate can indicate liquid loading.
- Often accompanied by the production of liquids.
- For additional information, see the WGR & water rate plot.
