Set Up Connection Settings dialog box

This dialog box is commonly used when you import well data from a database, and enables you to create or edit your database connections.

Connection Name — (required) type the name of your database connection.

Connect to — select your data source: either an Access database or other data source.

  • Access File — browse to the location of your Access database.
  • Data Sources — select the open database connection (ODBC) that connects Harmony Enterprise to your source database. Or, click the Add New button, which opens the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box.

    • Data Source Options — can be set after Data Sources is selected.
    • Set Username and Password — if login credentials are required for accessing your database, you can save the user name and password. Note that this field can be left blank.
    • Set Schema — set the database schema that the data is stored in. Note that this field can be left blank.
    • Use quoted identifiers — encloses database object names within quotes for queries. For more information, contact technical support (opens in a new window).
  • FieldDIRECT File — browse to the location of your .mdf file.
