AppStream 2.0

Amazon AppStream 2.0 is a fully managed application-streaming service. You centrally manage your desktop applications on AppStream 2.0 and securely deliver them to any computer. You can easily scale to any number of users across the globe without acquiring, provisioning, and operating hardware or infrastructure.

Amazon provides a tutorial on building a custom AppStream image with your desired application.

During the setup process you can integrate with OneDrive for Business, or Google Drive for GSuite to provide your users with an easy way to access their files from inside AppStream. Or, you can enable local file sharing.

We strongly recommend setting any shared settings when you are in the Image Builder step. While Image Builder is open, launch Harmony Enterprise, and set the License Server to the private IP address of the EC2 you created to run your license service. You may also want to set any shared settings such as System DSNs (see connecting using the Data Source Manager). Do this for the template user, test user, etc. Note that all users get the same settings from the base image. This image cannot be changed after it is created; it can only be recreated.

We also recommend adding explorer.exe as an application, so users can interact with the file system in a familiar way. Or, you can select a Desktop Stream View when setting up the fleet.
