The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board requires a Pressure ASCII Standard (PAS) file submitted along with all raster images for tests conducted after December 1998. The PAS file is a standard, comma-delimited file, which is essentially the same information available in the standard raster-based DST only in text format.
To display PAS data
|
The PAS Data button is active in DST Viewer when the displayed DST has an associated PAS file (as depicted below). Click this button to launch the PAS Data Viewer. |
|
Note the following when working with PAS data:
Blank PAS fields indicate test information that was not originally submitted.
All pressures are in kpag units except in the CL Chamber tab, where they are in kpaa.
Subsea depth is KB less the pressure gauge stop depth and may be different from the extrapolated pressure, which is drawn from the analysis section of the PAS file. The PAS file format defines this entry as the extrapolated/false pressure at the MPP, commonly known as P*.
You can find the following types of information under the various tabs.

Summary |
The well test summary derived from various sections of the PAS file that is also displayed on some of the tabs listed below. |
|
Recovery |
Liquid identification and recovery. Note that the PAS file contains only limited measurement data and you should review the raster-based DST report for detailed information. |
|
Mud / Hole |
Mud and hole details. This section is most complete only when a closed chamber test is done. Otherwise, review the raster-based DST report for detailed information. |
|
Gauges |
Primary and secondary gauges (as applicable). When viewing
information from primary gauges, you can also view time and pressure information
for flows and shutins. This information is not available when viewing
secondary gauges. |
|
Analysis |
Input parameters and comments from the test. |
|
CL. Chamber |
Closed chamber test details, if applicable. |
