Creating a Hybrid Model
1. Launch an entity for analysis.
2. Click the Hybrid thumbnail within the IHS RTA section.
3. Select the model type based on the fluid behavior you want to simulate:
- Select Gas+Immobile Water to create a single-phase model. Only gas flow is modeled in this case; water is considered immobile. If you create a Gas+Immobile Water hybrid model for a liquid-rich gas well, the model is calculated in terms of recombined gas (see Recombination).
- Select Black Oil to create a multiphase model. The Black Oil model accounts for gas dissolved in liquid, but does not account for liquid vaporized in gas; therefore, you should not create a Black Oil model for liquid-rich gas wells.
- Select Modified Black Oil to create a multiphase model that accounts for gas dissolved in liquid, and for liquid vaporized in gas. Modified Black Oil models should only be used for liquid-rich gas wells.
4. Select a model geometry:
- Select Fracture to model a vertical well with a single vertical fracture.
- Select Hz Multifrac to model a horizontal well with multiple vertical fractures.
The Hybrid Model Dashboard opens. (It may look slightly different depending on your model type.)
