Scheduling well updates

In most cases, scheduling well updates refers to specifying a time to import additional data for one or more wells.

Note:    This functionality does not apply to SE licenses.

You can schedule well updates on a one-time basis using the Import Database wizard (step 12), or automatically using the auto-import feature. If you decide to import your wells automatically, you can schedule imports to occur outside of business hours on a recurring basis without using a Harmony Enterprise license. For more information, see the Import Options dialog box.

In order to schedule well updates, you need:

  • permission to modify and execute tasks. If adjustments are needed, see your IT department.
  • permission to import data. For more information, see role-based security.
  • to be logged in to Windows when the updates occur. Note that locking your computer is fine.

After your automatic well import is complete, a log file is generated, which is viewable by double-clicking the summary message in the Status Window.

Troubleshooting

You can customize well-linking-logic in Harmony Enterprise 2019.3. Well-linking-criteria selections are saved with other Scheduled Import settings. Pre-existing scheduled imports will persist when upgrading, but they will not contain well-linking-criteria selections. Existing scheduled imports will be aborted, and that information is reported in the Status Window, as well as in a log file.

To fix your pre-existing scheduled imports, you only need to revise your existing scheduled imports once by configuring the well-linking-criteria hierarchy for each saved database connection. Your selections are saved, and scheduled imports resume during their regular time frame. For more information, see importing well data from a database and the Well Linking Criteria dialog box.
