About Working with Cross Sections

Building Cross Sections

You build cross sections by selecting New XSec () in the left toolbar and clicking wells that appear in the map or by importing .las files.

To work with cross sections you already created, click Toggle Cross Section Lines () in the left toolbar and simply double-click the cross section to launch.

Changing Cross Section Display

You can change cross section properties that apply to the entire cross section like logarithmic track display, shale cutoffs, datum baselines, and more. To only apply changes to a specific well log, refer to topics in the Working with Single Wells book.

You can access the Cross Section/Single Log Viewer dialog box and change global cross section properties in several ways:

  Click X-sec () in the Standard toolbar.

  Right-click the cross section area and from the shortcut menu, select cross section properties.

  From the Cross Sec menu, select Properties.
