You can change the number of rows and columns that span your map area from 16 - 512 units. More rows and columns increase map resolution but also increase gridding time and computer memory demands.
When changing grid values for irregularly shaped maps, ensure the number of rows and columns remain proportional so the map display is accurate.
To change the grid density
1. From the Map menu, select Properties.
The Map Properties: Gridding
dialog box appears.
2. Select the gridding tab and in the grid size area, type values in the column and row boxes, and then click OK.
Note: If your map area is rectangular, maintain
the row and column ratio so the map displays accurately.
