Creating Cross Sections

After selecting new XSec () in the left toolbar, click wells on the map to include in a cross section. The wells appear in the cross section in the order in which you click them regardless of geographic order with all settings from the last active cross section applied.

You can display previously created cross sections by selecting Toggle Cross Section Lines () in the left toolbar and simply double-click one to launch that cross section.

To create cross sections

1. Select new XSec () in the left toolbar.

2. Review the mini well card that appears when you hover the cursor over each well and click to select wells that meet your criteria.

For more well details and if working in AccuMap DB mode, you can right-click the well and display its AccuXCard. See Related Topics for details.

3. Double-click the last well to begin downloading well logs from the IHS Energy Information Hub.

As AccuX loads digital online curves for each well, a blue square covers the well symbol.

If you selected show curve selection before transaction in the Global Online Axxses Settings dialog box, the Axxses Curve Selection dialog box appears. Select the specific curves, and start and stop depths to download for each well and then click OK.

You can control which curves appear in this dialog box by selecting specific curve types in the Global Online Axxses Settings dialog box and also by adding or removing curve aliases that appear in the Digital Log: Alias dialog box.
