Creating Project Areas from AccuMap Well Lists

You can create an AccuX project map with extents defined by the wells in an AccuMap well list. The project map includes general well information, DSTs, tops, completion information, and a land grid. It doesn't include production information or other cultural data.

To generate a project map, the source well list must be current with the latest AccuMap database. To update a project map with additional wells, update the well list in AccuMap and then re-import it into AccuX. If you select the Add New Wells option from the Project menu instead, AccuX updates the project map with all wells that fall within its map extents regardless of whether they're in the well list. See the AccuMap help system for details about working with lists.

If you have access to both ACD and IPL data, AccuX retrieves data from the database you last ran.

Where your data includes user tops and system tops with the same abbreviations, user tops overwrite system tops.

You can add additional well lists to increase the size of your project map.

To create project areas from AccuMap well lists

1. From the Map menu, select Create Map using AccuMap Well List.

Note: Update the well list in AccuMap before selecting it in AccuX.

The Well List dialog box appears, with which you browse to and select the desired .wls file and then click OK.

2. Accept the confirmation message to download a list of digital curves from the IHS Energy Information Hub for wells in the well list.

If a user name and password wasn't previously typed in the Global Online Axxses Settings dialog box, the Axxses Connection Info dialog box appears.

Type your connection information and then click OK.

A project map with wells in the selected well list appears in the left pane. You can either import another well list to increase the project map area or start working with the existing wells.
