To draw polygonsYou can draw a polygon on the map for either visual presentation or as a selection tool.
As a selection tool, polygons can surround a group of wells or an area upon which to perform an operation. For example, you can draw a polygon around a group of wells and download the logs for only those wells, or you can draw a polygon to define unique geological blocks (tectonic zones, channels, or areas of interest) then contour within the polygon independent of influences outside the polygon. To perform an operation on an entire project, draw a polygon that encompasses the entire project map.
After you draw a polygon, you can click and hold the mouse while dragging existing nodes to shift them, or click and hold while dragging anywhere along a segment to create a new node there and change the polygon shape.
Polygons are only displayed on the map layer on which they're drawn. If you change map layers you must attach desired polygons to the new layer for them to appear.
You can either delete a polygon from a map or detach it so it's still available to be reattached in the future.
To draw polygons
1. Click
new poly
(
) in the left toolbar.
2. Click the points to define your polygon and double-click the last point to complete the polygon.
3. Hover your cursor over the polygon until it appears highlighted then double-click it.
The GeoPolyForm Properties
dialog box appears.
4. Select implied closure, type a primary name by which to identify the polygon, include any additional options, and then click OK. Because you can create an unlimited number of polygons, typing a descriptive primary name will make it easier to locate specific ones.
If you display a different map layer than the one on which the polygon was created either using the Map > Properties > Main tab, or by selecting a different AccuX Vision layer, the polygon isn't visible on the new layer unless you select Polygon > Attach User Draw Object from the main menu.
To attach polygons
1. From the Polygon menu, select Attach User Draw Object.
The User GeoForm Lookup dialog box appears.
2. Select the polygon to attach and click OK. You can only select one polygon at a time.
To detach polygons
Select the polygon and from the Polygon
menu, and select Detach Selected User
Draw Object.
To delete polygons
Select
the polygon and press the DELETE key
OR
If using Project mode, right-click the object and from the shortcut menu,
select Remove Object.
If using AccuX DB mode, select the object and from the Polygon
menu, select Delete User Draw Object.
