Updating Project Wells with LAS Files

You can import logs you saved to disk in .las format into wells in your project map that don't have logs available from the IHS Energy Information Hub.

To update project wells with LAS files

1. Display the LAS file in an ASCII text editor and ensure the UWI value is 16 continuous digits without spaces, hyphens, or slashes (100031804603W500).

2. From the Well menu, select Load Single Well from LAS.

The Open dialog box appears.

3. Browse to and select a .las file, and then click Open.

The Log Import Filter dialog box appears.

4. Select the curves to include and if required, the Begin Depth and End Depth values, then click Continue.

The well with the matching UWI appears surrounded by a blue square on your project map and the imported log(s) appears in the cross section pane.

  If you have additional LAS files for the same well, right-click the log and from the shortcut menu, select Add Digital Curves from LAS.
