Creating an Oil Deliverability Analysis Using the Vogel Equation
The Vogel equation is a widely accepted method for determining a reservoir's deliverability inflow performance relationship (IPR). The calculation uses your information to determine the well's IPR at the sandface. This relationship between pressure and rate can be used by itself to visually determine the desired operating pressure, or it can be combined with tubing performance curves (TPCs) to compare well performance scenarios.
To create an oil deliverability analysis using the Vogel equation:
1. Launch an entity for analysis.
2. Click the Oil IPR / TPC thumbnail.
3. Add the Oil - Deliverability Vogel analysis to the worksheet. See Adding an Analysis for details.
4. Enter the required information:
- Current reservoir pressure
- Test rate
- Test pressure (flowing sandface pressure)
Note: Bubble point pressure is automatically imported from the Properties Editor.
The IPR will be plotted after you enter all the required information.
