Creating a Typecurve Analysis

In order to perform a typecurve analysis, flowing pressures must be specified for each rate in the imported data in the Production Editor (not required for a Fetkovich analysis), and reservoir parameters must be entered in the Properties Editor.

Note:   If this data is not provided, the typecurve analysis remains accessible, but results are not calculated.

The typecurve analysis consists of a plot in the main pane, and a pane of input parameters and results on the left side.

To create a typecurve analysis:

1. Launch an entity for analysis.

2. Click the Typecurve thumbnail; then select the type of worksheet you want to create.

3. Select the dimensionless parameter and match the data to the typecurve.

To make matching typecurves easier, move the data as close as possible, then click the Automatic Typecurve Selection button. This selects the closest typecurve match and then highlights it by making it thicker and brighter. Harmony chooses the appropriate typecurve, based on the minimum cumulative error between each typecurve and the dataset.

4. Open the results in the Analysis Manager, or create a Forecast Worksheet.
