Increasing Correlation in Prevailing Direction

You can type a ratio to give more weight to data in a prevailing direction. However, this type of analysis is not generally required and you can simply accept the default ratio of 1.

To increase correlation in a prevailing direction

1. From the Map menu, select Properties.

The Map Properties: Gridding dialog box appears.

2. Select the gridding tab and in the anisotropy area, type a weighting value in the ratio box and a value in degrees for the prevailing direction in the angle box. For example, 2 and 45 and then click OK.
